As part of our commitment to continually enhance service for our members and your patients, Delta Dental wants to know more about their dental care experiences. In February 2021, Delta Dental of Missouri will begin participating in the Dental Plan Survey, the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems Survey, also known as CAHPS. The standardized survey is used in the healthcare industry and by the national Delta Dental system to evaluate patient satisfaction and may reveal valuable patient insights for Delta Dental dentists, like you.

Beginning on February 9, 2021, the survey will be sent each month on our behalf by our approved vendor via email to a sample of adult dental plan members, who visited a general dentist within the prior month. The survey will invite them to share feedback about their experiences with their dental plan, their dentist and their staff. Patients will only receive one survey per calendar year, regardless of the number of times they visit the dentist in that year. The survey is designed to measure and help improve the dental care experience and advance patient-centered care.

Questions asked within the survey provide a view into the overall patient experience and satisfaction from every aspect of their oral healthcare interactions. Topics include:

  • Overall rating of the dental plan
  • Overall rating of ease of finding a dentist
  • Overall rating of dental care
  • Dental plan information and services
  • Access to dental care
  • Care from dentists and staff

For your reference, the full survey questionnaire will be posted on our “Provider’s Office” page in mid-January at https://www.deltadentalmo.com/Providers.

Delta Dental will aggregate the survey responses with those of other Delta Dental plan members to determine what we do well and what we can do better. The information gathered will remain within the Delta Dental system. The results specific to experiences with dentists and dental office staff will be shared with dental offices if we have 30 or more survey responses from patients to provide a statistically valid assessment.

We appreciate your ongoing partnership as we work together to continuously enhance the service and care provided to our members and your patients.
