Credentialing and recredentialing requirements regarding the DEA Certificate have been updated and are effective October 1, 2021. This change will be noticed when logging into Dental Xchange for initial credentialing or recredentialing.
Please note, concerning the DEA Certificate, if a dentist does NOT have a DEA Certificate, an explanation of the office policy for prescribing medication for a patient must be provided. For example, the patient will be referred to an emergency department (ED) or another health care professional to prescribe the medication.
